Same mirror - same place - different orphan by *button-bird

*strangled cry*

I looked at this to try to figure out who it was and then my heart broke.

HEY, DO NOT BLAME ME FOR THIS! IT’S NOT LIKE I SENT IT TO YOU! SOMEONE, WRITE A FIC ABOUT THIS!
HI DOM.

Teddy walked down the corridor, hands trousered and eyes looking down at his feet, wishing he could simply throw the last fifteen minutes of his life away, forget them for good. But he could not. The words of his colleague kept echoing in his mind, “He’s the son of a werewolf!”
Well, he was. He could not deny it. And despite the fact that Professor Longbottom had instantly arrived to take away twenty points from the boy and allow him to walk away with his own thoughts, he could not help but to feel a bit of a coward. Was that what his parents would have wanted from him? To not put up a fight? Everyone told him his father was a peaceful bloke, but was this what he wanted from him? His mother on the other hand had been known to not tolerate much. Did she rather that he had stood up and defended his father? Was that what she would have done?
Teddy leant upon the wall and sighed. He just wanted to see them. He probably should go back, go back just to say a few words for him. Make him bloody regret what he had said. Ted sucked in a breath determined to make him pay and walked a few steps back. He wanted to see them so badly, but if he could not, he would at least be the son he was supposed to be. He could even shot a jinx on him, just to create an incredibly fond memory for himself. Make his mother proud. He stopped. Was that what she really wanted? For him to go hexing people all around the school? Maybe not. He wished he could see them, even if it was for just a minute. Teddy exhaled heavily, returning to his original path.
However, before he had walked five steps he heard a noise. Looking back, he noticed that a door had appeared on the wall that was made of bricks not a minute before. He cautiously opened it and entered the empty room. Empty save for one single object right in the middle of it. A mirror. As he approached from it, he was able to see two figures that even though he had absolutely no memory at all of ever seeing them, he knew precisely who they were.
A tall, scarred man, donned in shabby robes something in his eyes as he looked at him that Teddy could only define as pride, his arm was around the shoulder of the witch who stood beside him, a bright bubblegum pink hair and a beautiful smile. He knew who they were. Sudden moisture prickled in his eyes and he could see them mirrored in their eyes as well. A small wave from her, from his mother… to him… to her son was all he needed, all he needed to break down and his knees gave out, his hand sliding down the mirror’s surface whilst he sobbed. He just wanted to see them. And he had. So why wasn’t it enough?

So, yay! Chapter 20 is up!

“Remus?” Tonks called lowly once a rather long silent moment had passed.
With considerable effort, he forced himself to look at her.
“You’re not like them.”
